Ryan McDevitt


Ryan C. McDevitt is a Professor of Economics at Washington University’s Olin School of Business and School of Public Health as well as a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Ryan previously held academic positions at Kellogg, Booth, Fuqua, and Simon along with non-academic positions at Morgan Stanley and Amazon. Ryan currently serves as editor of the Journal of Industrial Economics and on the American Society of Nephrology's Excellence in Patient Care committee.

Ryan was named a “Top 40 Under 40” business school professor by Poets & Quants in 2017 and has won numerous teaching awards for his courses in economics, strategy, and econometrics. His work has been published in the American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, Quarterly Journal of Economics, and Review of Economic Studies, and has been funded by the National Science Foundation and National Bureau of Economic Research.
