Executive Education Registration Methods and Policies


Credit Cards

All credit card payments must be processed online. Unfortunately, we cannot accept credit card details over the phone. We accept:

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • American Express
  • Government purchase cards
  • Discover
  • JCB cards

Please contact us if your organization prohibits the use of a payment portal.

We reserve the right to limit the number of participants to ensure optimum classroom engagement, to change course dates and instructors, and to cancel courses due to low enrollment. Course fees and schedules are subject to change without notice. Please call or see individual course webpages in our portal for the most current information regarding course fees and schedules.

Payment and Registration Confirmation

Your registration is not final until we receive payment in full or an approved purchase order. You will receive written confirmation via email within 48 hours after we receive both your registration and complete payment information. An incomplete submission of registration information does not grant you a seat in a course. An approved purchase order does not guarantee registration; it serves as a request for us to send an invoice for payment.

If a course or program gets canceled for any reason, you are responsible for any travel costs you have incurred. In the event of a course or program cancellation, every effort will be made to notify you immediately and to find an appropriate course or program you can transfer into. In this case, you will not be charged the transfer fees described in the cancellation policy section.

Written notice is required for all cancellations, transfers and substitutions. Send correspondence via email to registrar@washu.brookings.edu.

Purchase Orders

We accept purchase orders; however, please note that we cannot accept payment or purchase orders that identify the training vendor as the Brookings Institution.

Note: Purchase orders are reviewed within two business days of submission. An automated message will confirm when your registration is final.

Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT)

Request an invoice to receive payment instructions. Please include:

  • Participant’s name, organization, title, and email address
  • Name and dates of the course you wish to register for

Continuing Education Units (CEU)

Washington University is among many colleges and universities that award CEUs to participants of approved, noncredit courses or programs. If you require proof of participation, please email your request to registrar@washu.brookings.edu. We will provide you with a letter of completion.

Substitutions

Participant substitutions are strongly encouraged when an original participant cannot attend their scheduled course. A substitution may be made until 3 business days before the course begins. Substitution requests must include the new participant’s name and email address.

Transfers

A participant may transfer from one course to another once. Any discount will be forfeited. Participants must pay any difference in tuition before being registered for a new course. Transfer fees apply according to the schedule below. If a participant wishes to transfer to an unspecified course, their tuition credit is valid for 12 months from the date of request. Any funds not used within 12 months will be forfeited.

Cancellation

If you withdraw from a course (instead of requesting a substitution or transfer) a cancellation fee will be assessed according to the schedule below. Additional charges may be assessed in cases where educational materials were sent before a participant canceled.

Open Enrollment Courses and Fee Schedule


Transfer and Cancellation fees depend on how many business days’ notice you give before the course begins. Substituting another participant is allowed at no cost, provided we receive at least 3 business days’ notice.

Cohort Programs


Tuition is non-refundable, and missed sessions cannot be made up in future course offerings. Substitutions and transfers are not permitted once the program begins.

LEGIS Fellowship


  • Notice (Business Days): 14 days or less

Attendance

If you miss any portion of a course, Olin Executive Education | WashU at Brookings cannot refund your tuition or offer complementary participation in a future offering of the course.

  • You will receive fewer credits, instructional hours, and Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
  • Depending on your attendance record, you may not be entitled to a letter of completion.
  • If you do not complete a cohort program, you will not earn a certificate or be entitled to an alumni discount.

Exceptions may be made in limited circumstances at the discretion of Olin Executive Education | WashU at Brookings.

Alumni Discount

Degreed graduates of WashU Olin Business School qualify for 50% off future executive education courses from WashU Olin or WashU at Brookings. Certificate alumni are eligible for a 25% discount. Complete one of the following certificates to qualify:

  • Advanced Management Certificate
  • Certificate in Public Leadership
  • Certificate in Policy Strategy
  • Enduring Enterprise: Strategic Ownership for the Private Enterprise
  • Women’s Leadership Program
  • LEGIS Congressional Fellowship

Discounted seats are limited, subject to availability, and available only to verified certificate holders or Olin alumni. To receive your discount, email the course you would like to take to registrar@washu.brookings.edu.

Changes & Cancellations

Course dates and instructors may change without prior notice. Tuition for your course is fixed at the time of registration. However, please note that fees for future sessions may vary. If Olin Executive Education | WashU at Brookings changes, reschedules, or cancels a course or program for any reason, every effort will be made to notify you at least 30 days before the start date. If your course has been rescheduled or canceled, you may transfer to another course or request a refund. Transfer or cancelation fees will not apply. You are responsible for any travel costs incurred.

Inclement Weather

If the federal government closes due to inclement weather, scheduled courses will be canceled. Every effort will be made to notify you of any changes immediately and to reschedule the course for a future date.

If the federal government calls for a delayed opening or offers liberal leave or telework, WashU at Brookings will open on time. Courses will proceed as scheduled.

Photography

Olin Executive Education | WashU at Brookings reserves the right to use photos taken during its events and activities for promotional purposes.

Photographs occasionally are taken during classes, but if you do not want to be photographed, you can inform the staff.

Privacy

Olin Executive Education | WashU at Brookings values your private information and will not share personal data with third parties, except where required. By providing your information, you agree to allow future communication from these entities unless otherwise indicated in writing. You may opt out of these communications at any time.
